Bible Verses:

Do Not Love the World- 1 John 2:15-17 (Read entire chapter for full context)

Do Not Love the World

15Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. 17And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.

The New Commandment- 1 John 2:7-10 (Read entire chapter for full context)

Define Commandment:

Beloved, I am writing you no new commandment, but an old commandment that you had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word that you have heard. At the same time, it is a new commandment that I am writing to you, which is true in him and in you, because[a] the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining. Whoever says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in darkness. 10 Whoever loves his brother abides in the light, and in him[b] there is no cause for stumbling.

Using the Full Armor of God- Ephesians 6:10-18 (Read entire chapter for full context)

Define Armor:

The Whole Armor of God

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. 16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, 18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,

Living by the Flesh vs Living by the Spirit- Galatians 5:19-26 (Read entire chapter for full context)

19 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy,[a] drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do[b] such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24 And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Salvation Explained- Ephesians 2:8-10 (Read entire chapter for full context)

Define Salvation:

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Confession of Faith- John 3:16-18 (Read entire chapter for full context)

Define Confession:

16 “For God so loved the world,[a] that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

Inheriting the Kingdom of God- 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 (Read entire chapter for full context)

Define Inherit:

Or do you not know that the unrighteous[a] will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,[b10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

What the Lord Requires of You- Micah 6:6-8 (Read entire chapter for full context)

Define Require(ment):

What Does the Lord Require?

“With what shall I come before the Lord,    and bow myself before God on high?Shall I come before him with burnt offerings,    with calves a year old? Will the Lord be pleased with[a] thousands of rams,    with ten thousands of rivers of oil?Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression,    the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?”He has told you, O man, what is good;    and what does the Lord require of youbut to do justice, and to love kindness,[b]    and to walk humbly with your God?

The Great Commission   Matthew 28:16-20 (Read entire chapter for full context)

Define Commission:

The Great Commission

16 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. 17 And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[b] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

The Great Commandment- Matthew 22:34-39 (Read entire chapter for full context)

The Great Commandment

34 But when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together. 35 And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question to test him. 36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

Peace & Blessings Beloved,

I pray you receive this gift with the love intended. It is my sincerest desire for you to take advantage of these bible excerpts, each of which are designed to point you to repentance of your sin, a complete confession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and a roadmap on how to live a godly life in an ungodly world.

I pray you meditate on its contents, and willingly give your life to Christ, wholly trusting in Him, and His perfect will for your life.

In this tract we will cover everything, from the confession of faith, our relationship to the world, to operating daily with the full armor of God, and more.

Chapter 1

Confession of Faith

John 3:16-18 (Read entire chapter for full context)

Confession- a formal admission of one's sins with repentance and desire of absolution; a statement setting out essential religious doctrine; the religious body or Church sharing a confession of faith; a statement of one's principles.

16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

Conclusion: God loved a sin-filled world so much that he sacrificed the life of His only Son, by sending Him to earth to die for our sins, so that we can be saved from eternal damnation.

Chapter 2

Salvation Explained

Ephesians 2:8-10 (Read entire chapter for full context)

Salvation- deliverance from sin and its consequences, believed by Christians to be brought about by faith in Christ; a source or means of being saved from harm, ruin, or loss.

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Conclusion: There is no work/act/gesture we can offer God that would compel Him to save us. Our salvation, provided by our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, is given to us through His death & resurrection, and our subsequent faith in them.

Chapter 3

The New Commandment

1 John 2:7-10 (Read entire chapter for full context)

Commandment: a divine rule, especially one of the Ten Commandments; a rule to be observed as strictly as one of the Ten Commandments;

Beloved, I am writing you no new commandment, but an old commandment that you had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word that you have heard. At the same time, it is a new commandment that I am writing to you, which is true in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining. Whoever says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in darkness. 10 Whoever loves his brother abides in the light, and in him there is no cause for stumbling.

Conclusion: This commandment that we have been given requires us to love our brother as ourselves, to resolve all grievances, forgive all trespasses, and be a light to them, and the world in general.

Chapter 4

The Great Commandment

Matthew 22:34-39 (Read entire chapter for full context)

Commandment: a divine rule, especially one of the Ten Commandments; a rule to be observed as strictly as one of the Ten Commandments.

Conclusion: The Great Commandment is a reinforcement of the Ten Commandments, in which obedience essentially results in loving God with all our being and our neighbor as ourselves. In other words, the result of obeying the Ten Commandments is the fulfillment of the Great Commandment.

Chapter 5

What the Lord Requires of You

Micah 6:6-8 (Read entire chapter for full context)

Requirement: a thing that is needed or wanted; a thing that is compulsory; a necessary condition.

“With what shall I come before the Lord, and bow myself before God on high?Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old? Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten thousands of rivers of oil?Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?”He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

Conclusion: As human beings we all sacrifice something in reverence and obedience to whatever God we serve. As a child of God, we are required to sacrifice fleshly desires, and replace them with being just, kind and humble, in all things, to all people.

Chapter 6

The Great Commission

Matthew 28:16-20 (Read entire chapter for full context)

Commission: an instruction, command, or duty given to a person or group of people; the authority to perform a task or certain duties

16 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. 17 And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Conclusion: Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has all authority and power, and in that role has given us a command and instruction, as Christians, to go out into the world and share the gospel with others, that they too may give their life to Him, and join the church body.

Chapter 7

Living by the Flesh vs Living by the Spirit- Galatians 5:19-26 (Read entire chapter for full context)

19 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24 And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Conclusion: There is a clear distinction between the life of a Christian and a non-Christian, as evidenced by the works, or fruit of our lives. The Christian has turned his back on the passions and desires of his flesh.

Chapter 8

Do Not Love the World

Love: an intense feeling of deep affection; a great interest and pleasure in something; like or enjoy very much

Lust: a sensual appetite regarded as sinful; feel a strong desire for something.

1 John 2:15-17 (Read entire chapter for full context)

15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the desires/lust of the flesh and the desires/lust of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. 17 And the world is passing away along with its desires/lusts, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.

Conclusion: As Christians we have been given a mandate by God to not love anything that He considers worldly, or against His goodness. Such things include giving into our carnal desires to please our flesh, and not please God. If we hate the world, we will have the pleasure of spending eternity with God/Christ/Holy Spirit forever. If we love the world, we will spend eternity apart from God/Christ/Holy Spirit, in eternal damnation.

Chapter 9

Inheriting the Kingdom of God

1 Corinthians 6:9-11 (Read entire chapter for full context)

Inherit: come into possession of (something) as a right (especially in biblical translations and allusions)

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, 10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Conclusion: Paul is warning us, as Christians, that there are works of the flesh that we can engage in that will disqualify us from spending eternity with God/Christ/Holy Spirit, and will result in us spending eternity in hell, or eternal damnation. He then reminds us that we should always keep in mind that we’re nothing more than sinners saved by grace, and that would do well to be mindful of bearing good fruit, and not give in to our flesh.

Chapter 10

Using the Full Armor of God

Ephesians 6:10-18 (Read entire chapter for full context)

Define Armor: the metal coverings formerly worn by soldiers or warriors to protect the body in battle; a person's emotional, social, or other defenses.

Conclusion: As Christians we need to understand that we are constantly in warfare, albeit not a physical ware, but rather a spiritual war, with our main opponent being satan, who regularly uses our own flesh against us. Because of this warfare, God has provided us with armor in the form of spiritual armor. Each piece plays a critical role in protecting us from every weapon and attack of satan, and what/whoever he uses against us.
